Finally figured out how to mount the GoPro camera at the top of the mast. Its so high you can see the curvature of the earth! Actually its the GoPro Hero HD camera. It's contained in a waterproof case and can be used to take video or snap a picture at intervals (2 seconds in this case). I attached it to the mast using the same clamp that you could use on a bicycle. The field of view is 170 degrees - hence the fish-eye effect. This makes the image less bouncy. It also means that if you attach it to your surfboard, all of you will fit in the shot. I hope to somehow attach it to our paddlers for yearbook photos.Wednesday, December 7, 2011
